“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime” – proverb

Which dog do you want to come home to?

The one you have to follow around, telling them what to do. Reminding him to get down when he jumps every day, yelling “come, come, COME” over and over again, correcting them as they pull on the leash to see everything but you.

Or

The dog that takes cues from the environment. When the leash tightens they choose to check in and walk back in step, when you come home they greet you with a muzzle gently pushed into your hand for a chin rub, you leave the room with your steak on the coffee table and return to it still there.

The goal at Freedom Dog isn’t to have a list of cues or commands, (although we can help you with that too!) it is first controlling the environment so we can reinforce the behaviour that we want and then expanding that into real life. This removes the need for your dogs behaviour to be constantly managed and gives them the ability to think for themselves. Instead of a dog whose attention you have to beg for you have one that seeks you out for direction.  Meet the trainer to learn why we use this approach.
